Project Execution: Screen Design & Examples

I decided to follow the idea of making this travelogue as a scrapbook. Below are the designs and explanations of the application.

Page Cover

~Prototype design of the front cover. Will improve later on.

Below are the pages that divides each section.

Page divider for the SITES section

Page divider for CULTURE section

Though I might pretty much just use them to divide three days trip. Like the first will be related to the first site, which is the Suffolk House.

Keep in mind these are only prototype designs

~Button~

This is actually a button I'm working on. It's a page curl type of button where you will use your mouse and press to flip over the pages.

Here's the application that I'm learning on using for this assignment:

As you can see, the curls are situated on the bottom sides of the pages. This one is not mine however. I found it on internet.

I'm also working on another type of application and working on combining it with this to make it more interactive and exciting. I'm not sure how it will work.

(I forgot to save screenshots on it.......)

I'm pretty much going with a narrative style travelogue.

That's all for now

Content Progress Development: Application Flow

(You know what they always say, go with the flow....)

Here how it goes:

I'm aiming for a simple navigation system, whether if its just a few piece of blocks, like above. I don't to make a complicated one nor a boring one.

Each of these bars are actually buttons that will lead to different pages. Also note that the button will enlarge when I mouse goes over it. Each of them also are designed differently for people to know which button goes which page.

So, when they are clicked...

It will lead to this kind of page (which I'm still thinking on the design); a picture gallery style page. The pictures can be scroll around using two different arrows (which I forgot to draw due to sleep-deprive) on both right and left.

The box below it will contain descriptions that I will tell, mostly on my feelings and opinion on that place including some facts. Of course, I won't reveal to much.

Content Progress Development: Design Concept (Sketches)

It's one of those times again....

IDEA #1: Book

This was the first idea that arrived in the sea of my mind. A typical book concept. Simple yet fascinating. I even found the scripting to do it but I need time to find a better one. The idea, or rather ideas is that I either I make it continuous like a real journal OR making it in a style similar to a picture gallery.

IDEA # 2: Pamphlet

I say, this is a nice one. I got this idea from a website with a similar application. The first page must be click in order for it to open the rest. Each piece of this pamphlet will have three different categories, based on the things I want to explain.

(PS: Not sure if I can do this one, just an idea)

Research: Precedent Studies

drawingart-creative-flash-webdesign-inspiration

I love the style and coloring for this one. It does have interactivity though a simple yet typical one, just click and a different sub page will appear rather than completely going to a different link or page. This website features lots of works and projects done by digital artist.

The pictures organisation is similar for what I have in mind for my application. Has cool special effects in this one. And the word "Loading" follows the mouse during the loading sequence so it does have some sort of interactivity.

I like how they design this website. The colors and atmosphere seemed very soothing.

The simplicity of this site's design is what interests me.Very cool effects too. This website is about a free lance write name Sheela Daley and her works.
